Bellroy Tech Kit Compact Review: Fits All I Need

I’m a kind of person that quickly becomes a brand loyalist. Let it be Apple for tech, Uniqlo for clothing, Amex for credit cards, or even German REWE for grocery shopping. Last year, getting back into traveling in a big way, I went all-in with Bellroy for my carry gear. What started as a small purchase of a couple of items, quickly became an obsession.
Bellroy is an Australian company that gained popularity through minimalistic leather wallets and quickly expanded their offering with backpacks, slings, various pouches, travel bags, phone cases, and other items. What makes their products stand out are high quality, environmentally-friendly materials and minimalistic yet incredibly versatile design. Even their simplest products have tons of smart organization features.
In the past year, I purchased seven different products from Bellroy—each fitting into my everyday or travel needs. In this reviews series, I’m sharing my thoughts after using Bellroy products for months. And we are kicking it off with the Bellroy Tech Kit Compact.

Fits all tech I need on the go
My first item from Bellroy was an obvious purchase for me. Before the Tech Kit Compact, I was using an old plastic bag from an Apple Store to carry cables, chargers, and other small tech items when traveling. It wasn’t the most elegant thing, but it got its job done. Since I often travel for work, I wanted something that can fit everything I might need on the go or when working from an office.
The Tech Kit Compact, despite its name, has plenty of room to fit a 96W USB-C power adapter from Apple, Magic Mouse, multiple cables (including a 2 meter USB-C cable from Anker), and even some Apple Watch bands. It also has enough width to fit an Apple Pencil (if you’re too worried of dropping it at airport security like me).
I keep power adapters and Magic Mouse or a spare power bank in soft mesh pockets on one side of the Tech Kit. Smaller cables go into the elastic bands. Longer cables and an Apple Pencil fit nicely into a slip pocket (which apparently has magnetic closure, but I couldn’t tell). There’s also a tiny pocket that in theory could hold small adapters or SD cards, but in my experience, it doesn’t prevent them from falling out at all.
Conclusion
Overall, it’s really well made tech kit with a lot of smart organization features. It also has gotten me some compliments around the office.
